myVector Assessments & Counselling
(Class VIII to XII)

Your child's future is too important to be left to 'luck' or 'chance'.

Great careers do not simply happen. That is why it is important for your child to make career plans. You are the best person to ensure that your child is making wise career choices. Research shows that parents have the greatest influence on their children's career choices. As a parent, you know your child better than anyone else. You have more interest in helping your child choose a rewarding career than anyone else.

Why Guidance is required?

• Because of your child's limited knowledge about career opportunities, he or she needs guidance to choose the best educational and career path
• Because your child should be exposed to many different career options and think about what he or she likes and dislikes about each one before focusing on the chosen path
• Because it is important to have a career plan in place before investing time, energy and money

How does Gray Matters help?

Gray Matters Consulting brings to you a unique tool, myVector 'Inner Drive' Assessment, that would identify your child's interest and map them to suitable 'Job Opportunities'. You may know your child's interest, but you may not be entirely aware of what 'occupations' the 'interest' corresponds to and what 'fields of study' he / she is likely to excel in. This scientific assessment tool based on Dr John Holland's internationally acclaimed theory on 'interests' - links your child's Interest to Career Options.

myVector Inner Drive Assessment

• It is a tool for students from Std. VIII to XII, based on three components - Interest, Competency and Values
• It is a paper-and-pencil test that requires no preparation and takes about 45 minutes to complete
• This assessment is designed based on American Psychologist Dr John L. Holland's seminal work on interest patterns
• An Interpretive Report would be given to the student giving details about the type of person he/she is and his / her possible job opportunities / career options and 'Field of Study', that would make him/her successful.

How does the Interpretive Report help?

The Inner Drive Interpretive Report can be a valuable tool in helping the students identify their interests, enabling them in
• Identifying career options consistent with their interests
• Choosing appropriate education and training relevant to their interests
• Understanding aspects of their personality most closely associated with their interests
• Determining their preferred learning environments
• Using interests in shaping their career direction
• Deciding on a focus for the future
• Directing their own career exploration at various stages in their life
• Achieving satisfaction in their jobs

Job Readiness Workshops (After Graduation / Job Seeking Fresher's)

You can't rely on your degree alone to automatically open doors after you graduate. It will make you eligible to apply for jobs that specify "must be a graduate", and the subject or class of your degree may also be important to certain employers. But however good your degree class, however relevant your subject to the career that you'll be applying for, it is likely that you will be competing for this job with a number of other graduates who are equally well-qualified academically.

Employers are therefore seeking graduates who are enterprising, resourceful and adaptable and who, as well as their degree, possess a range of skills which can be used in a wide variety of settings as well as in their careers. These are known as job readiness skills.
